The Amazon and New Economies International Conference Coming Up
Between the August 30th and September 1st, dozens of specialists and people interested in issues involving the Economy, Environment and Development will gather in the capital of Pará, Belém, for The Amazon and New Economies International Conference.
The Amazon is a fundamental biome for life on Earth, but it is also where almost 30 million Brazilians need to earn their livelihoods. Finding the balance between economic development in the region and sustainability is not a simple task, however, there are economic practices that bring these two issues together and that need to be strengthened among the Amazonians.
Over the three days, participants will discuss current issues and how to stimulate and develop new economies — bioeconomy, circular economy, carbon market, solidarity economy, regenerative economy, sociobiodiversity economy, etc. — in the Amazon region. Throughout, the focus will be on finding solutions for keeping the forest standing and allied to improving the quality of life for those who live there.
Professionals from sectors linked to the new economies, public managers, business executives, sustainability and ESG professionals, managers and professionals from civil society organizations, communities of ancestral and original peoples, cooperatives and associations, academia and the public are invited to participate at no cost.
The pre-registration should be made on the event’s official website (http://amazoniaenovaseconomias.com.br/), where more information such as the program, speakers, and Conference location are also available.
